As part of the 9th edition of OVNi, international video art festival, the Musée National Marc Chagall welcomes La Compagnie Humaine and its choreographic piece, « Les Glaneurs de rêve », for an exceptional evening.
The work is inspired by the poetic and literary universe of artist Patti Smith, and more specifically by her eponymous collection of poems and short prose pieces, a brief, luminous autobiographical narrative completed on her 45th birthday. In her short story LES GLANEURS, Patti Smith invites us to rediscover the sensations of childhood, the taste for words and imagination, with a striking realism bordering on the fantastic. Bodies in movement, their raw states, the hybridization of the musical universe, the projection of filmed images, a chiseled dramaturgy, carefully crafted lighting, performers eager to push back their limits: these are the strong elements on which Éric Oberdorff has relied to convey to the spectator the poetic charge contained in Patti Smith’s words.
