CIRCULATION

КОЛООБІГ

with

Bohdan ZHUK, programmer and film critic

This meeting/debate is organised in the framework of the exhibition and video screening presented by the Forum

as part of its participation in the 2022 edition of the OVNi / Objectif Vidéo Nice festival,

for which Bohdan ZHUK has been its guest curator.

It will focus on the film « Circulation » (Колообіг) by Ukrainian documentary filmmaker Oleksiy RADYINSKI, a long traveling

through the urban landscapes of the Ukrainian capital, filmed over three years from the windows of trains

moving through the city and its margins. Condensed by the editing into a ten-minute filmic object,

this urban wandering (which is anything but erratic, but on the contrary is measured out with extreme finesse) follows one another,

a catalogue of architectures and landscapes shaped and inhabited by man, as well as a series of

and landscapes shaped and inhabited by man, as well as their infinitesimal variations over time.

It will discuss the power of the filmic image to represent the city, its evocative power

of architectural and societal history, as well as the re-reading of previously filmed images in the current

in the current context of war.

Condensed by the editing into a ten-minute filmic object, this urban wandering (which is anything except erratic, but instead dosed with an extreme delicacy) is a series of, links together, as if in an endless hypnotic chaplet, a catalog of architectures and of landscapes shaped and inhabited by man, as well as their tiny variations over time.
